Texas Best All Time Lake

Texas Best Indian Battleground

    The first battle of Adobe Walls was one of the largest engagements between whites and indians on the Great Plains. (11-26-1864) Kit carson with less than 400 troops attacked a 150 lodge kiowa camp. He didn’t know about the 3000 to 7000 Comanches within a mile which made the battle a little more interesting.
    The second battle of Adobe walls (6-27-1874) occured when 700 Cheyennes, comanches and Kiowas under Quanah Parker attacked buffalo hunters camped at the walls.
